The Local Area

The village of Wedmore is located three miles away and has a lovely selection of shops. There is a post office, a delicatessen, butchers and pubs and restaurants serving good quality meals.

Our village pub, The Wheatsheaf, is now currently open after undergoing renovations and is less than a mile walk away from the Barn.

Nearby is Axbridge, a small town with medieval market square, timber framed buildings and narrow streets. The Mendip Hills and Somerset Levels provide ample opportunities for cycling, walking and watching wildlife.

Cheddar is famous for its Gorge and delicious Cheddar Cheese. Why not visit the Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company and see this famous cheese being made.

The City of Wells with it's beautiful cathedral and grounds makes a perfect day out.

The new pier at Weston-Super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea are a short drive away. Glastonbury is approximately 25 minutes away where you can walk up to the famous Glastonbury Tor.
